This is the pier. Taken from my ferryboat in the morning.
I am facing west towards the beach.
It is a marine police boat. The atmosphere is like an oil painting.
Look at the sea birds hovering.
This is from the ferryboat facing north. Our apartment is behind
the camera. The water is unbelievably calm because
there are some islands
on the east blocking the ocean waves already, plus some new breakwaters.
See the vertical column of 5 windows on white wall, near the center
of the photo. The 3rd window is ours. It is called the 3rd floor.
Therefore the first floor is really 20+ feet above the street. The
mezzanine above the shops count as one-half floor. The camera is
facing east, and you can see a ferryboat just departing from here.
Some rocks to the northwest of the Bay.
I climbed the hill via a trail that has 300+ steps with a
guard rail on one side for you to hold on to. From its top
I took the following photo.
This is a spectacular view of the whole Bay. From a hill top
about 50 meters high facing south. At the back is the gorgeous
"Second East Peak" as a backdrop, 750 meters high. Our apartment
is just above the L-shaped corner of the pier on the left. You can
see the Silver River on the top flowing into the sea.
Some hotels are on the beach just right of the river.
The black hill just east of the hotels is "Butterfly Hill", full
of dense trees and shrubs and butterflies. Behind it is a big valley
with several "Villages".
On the sidewalk facing west along the south shore of the Bay. Like
a Cezanne painting.
Facing west along the Siver River. At high tide, the water is
sea water. Some fishmen wash their catch in this sewage water, then
sell it to the restaurants where you and I eat! But it is as picturesque
as a Dutch oil painting.
This is so much like a Dutch oil painting. The tower is some
old tower in the old days to watch for bandits and for watchmen
to strike their bell.
Look at the reflections. Just like an oil painting. Thank God
we can live in a land of our childhood fantasy.
